🔥 God’s Righteous Judgment
Lesson Text: Romans 2:1–16
Sunday School – April 26, 2026
💡 Introduction
Let’s tell the truth.
It’s easy to point out sin in others…
and overlook it in ourselves.
Paul steps in and says:
👉 “You judging… and doing the SAME thing?”
This lesson is not about “them.”
This lesson is about US.

🔥 Holiness Teaching (Make It Plain)
1. Hypocrisy is dangerous (v.1)
You condemn yourself when you judge others but do the same thing.
👉 Holiness starts with SELF examination.
2. God’s patience is not permission (v.4)
God is being merciful… not approving your behavior.
👉 His goodness is trying to lead you to repentance.
3. You can store up judgment (v.5)
Every unrepented sin is building something.
👉 Not blessing… judgment.
(That shoplifting illustration in your lesson? 🔥 — people thought they were getting away… but they were storing consequences.)
4. God judges fairly (vv.6–11)
No favoritism. No shortcuts.
👉 Church title won’t save you
👉 Reputation won’t save you
👉 Only righteousness through Christ
5. Your conscience testifies against you (vv.14–15)
Even without the law… people know right from wrong.
👉 You don’t need a sermon to know some things ain’t right.
6. God sees EVERYTHING (v.16)
Even what you think is hidden.
👉 Secrets are only hidden from people… not God.
🧠 Reflection Questions
- Where am I judging others while ignoring myself?
- Am I confusing God’s patience with approval?
- What am I tolerating that God is calling me to repent from?
- Am I living holy… or just looking saved?
🙏 Closing Reflection
God is not fooled.
God is not confused.
God is not partial.
👉 He is JUST.
And holiness is still required.
